UTA is part of the UT system, much the same that the Austin campus is. Last I checked, Auburn wasn't a "sub-campus" of Alabama.

Why are they not just called the Arlington Mavericks? Why are there so many teams called the University of (state name here)-(city name here)??? Glad the state of Alabama isnt that way or we would have the University of Alabama at Auburn, the University of Alabama at Mobile(which is South Alabama),the University of Alabama at Troy etc. University of Alabama Birmingham is the only one that I am aware of. University of Alabama doesnt count, since its not called the UoA at Tuscaloosa, its simply called UoA.
