World Hockey Association Logos Philadelphia Blazers (1972/73) ► Miami Screaming Eagles (1972/73) ► Vancouver Blazers (1973/74-1974/75) ► Calgary Cowboys (1975/76-1976/77)

After brief stints as the Blazers in both Vancouver and Philadelphia (and an even briefer time in Miami as the Screaming Eagles), the Calgary Cowboys began play during the 1975-76 World Hockey Association season. The team is named after the famous Calgary Stampede, the grounds on which they played their home games (in the Stampede Corral). With Calgary joining the WHA as it was struggling to keep afloat, interest from the locals was never quite there and the team folded after just two seasons.
