Hillsboro Hops Logos History

The Hillboro Hops were relocated from Yakima, Wa. prior to the 2013 season where they had been known as the Yakima Bears since 1990. Hillsboro announced their new team name "Hops" via their Facebook page in October 2012.

Hops is a reference to the local Oregon production of the hop plant, used primarily to flavour beer. Oregon is the second largest producing state of hops in the United States, behind only Washington. The Hops name is also a play off of the baseball term (i.e. a short hop or bad hop).

The logo features a hop cone wearing a ball cap and features local scenery including Mount Hood, the tallest point in the State of Oregon.
