Robert Morris Colonials Logos History

The Colonials were named for Robert Morris the "financial hero" of the American Revolution who also signed the Declaration of Independence and, like the school bearing his name, were from Pennsylvania. As Morris was instrumental in the original colonies breaking away from Britain to form their new nation the school honoured him by naming their athletic teams the Colonials. Originally the school was known as the Pittsburgh School of Accountancy before a merger in 1935 led to the creation of the current name.
