The Cincinnati Bengals introduced a modern new look in 1997 when they developed and released their first true primary logo since their shift to the NFL. The logo showed the head of a bengal tiger in orange with black and white striping with a fierce look on its face. The Bengals retained this logo in 2002 but tweaked the shade of orange used. Following the 2003 season this logo was reclassified as an alternate logo and continued to be used by the Bengals.
