The 1957 National League Green Book

The cover of the 1957 NL Green Book features the first appearance of this familiar National League logo. The mark had been officially adopted at the 1956 National League Owners Meeting in December 1956. Originally consisting of only 8 stars (for the 8 NL teams) the logo has been updated throughout the years to reflect how the league has expanded. From 1998-2012 the logo had 16 stars, twice as many as originally intended.
