Los Angeles Lakers Logo

Primary Logo (1965/66-1970/71)

What is the Los Angeles Lakers Logo?

The Los Angeles Lakers original purple and gold logo was first introduced during the 1965-66 season, prior to the club adopting those colours on their uniforms. Officially known as Forum Blue, the Lakers switched to these colours from double blue in anticipation of their move to their new arena The Forum. This logo would be updated in 1971 with lighter colours and with the basketball lines removed from behind the team name.
