In 1985 in the midst of an economic farm crisis, coach Hayden Fry developed a simple but powerful trademark to show support for Iowa farmers. The logo has since become one of the university`s most beloved trademarks. It symbolizes the unique bond that exists between Hayden Fry, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and The University of Iowa with the farmers of Iowa and beyond.
