The first and only primary logo the Florida Marlins ever used. It was unveiled on July 18th, 1991 two years prior to their expansion 1993 season in the National League. Designed by Boston-area design firm Midnight Oil and their designer Jamie Styles with assistance from MLB Properties Design Director Anne Occi and Marlins owner Wayne Huizenga and his nephew Ray. The logo is the first Major League Baseball logo to feature the colour teal which along with orange were the colours requested by the club, Occi suggested black and silver as they are "hot matching colours which accent the primary colour". The Marlins won two World Series titles with this logo in 1997 and 2003, threw four no-hitters, and had Hall of Famer Andre Dawson wear it from 1995-96. The logo was retired when the club was re-named as the Miami Marlins following the 2011 season.
