After a half-season of low attendance at the Cobo Arena in Detroit, the Michigan Stags moved to Baltimore mid-season on January 23, 1975 where they were re-named the Baltimore Blades. The Blades played poorly during their time at the Baltimore Civic Center and despite a large crowd for their first home game, fans quickly turned away as the club finished 3-13-1 during games played in Baltimore. Following the 1974-75 season the WHA folded the team.
