A one year wonder, the Los Angeles Kings began their transition to black and silver a year before going all in with this recoloured version of their previous logo. Black and silver took over most of the design with the team lettering and the royal pennant both now entirely with the new hues, the only remnant of the purple and gold came via the crown at the bottom of the shield. The team retained purple and gold as their uniform colours during this season.
