Clark Gillies played for the New York Islanders from 1974 through 1986. He died from cancer on January 21, 2022, at the age of 67. During his time with the Islanders, he played in two NHL All-Star Games, scored 304 goals, and tallied 359 assists as his Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cups between 1980 and 1983. His number 9 was retired by the Islanders in 1996 and he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002.
