The Winnipeg Jets move to the Desert to become the Phoenix Coyotes and introduce a logo and uniform which incorperates an Aztec motif into the design. The home and road jerseys also featured two different shoulder patches. The one on the right shoulder reads PHOENIX COYOTES; the one on the left shoulder reads GOALS FOR KIDS (the team's charity that carried over to Phoenix from Winnipeg).
