What is the DePaul Blue Demons Logo?
Block D in royal blue. So how did a Catholic university become the Demons? In 1907 when St. Vincents College became DePaul University, the sports teams wore red uniforms with large Ds on the front. During a game, in the early 1900s, an announcer referred to the players as the D-men. This name stuck with the team and evolved into the Demon we have today. Unsure of when this logo was discontinued, possibly could be in the 1950s as a new script typeface for DePaul University emerged in media guides then.
