A crimson red P with a baseball formed in the counter of the letter. The Phillies had already been using this logo on their uniforms since the 1970 season. Following the 1983 season, the Philadelphia Phillies made a slight alteration to their logo, the main colour of the graphic was darkened considerably changing the previous crimson to more of a maroon.
