What is the IUPUI Jaguars Logo?

In 1972 IUPUI fielded its first varsity team. The players adopted the nickname Metros to reflect the school\'s urban setting and selected red and gold as the school colors. In 1973 IUPUI became an associate member of the NCAA and in 1978 joined the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). In 1993 IUPUI moved from the NAIA to membership in Division II of the NCAA. In 1997, they moved up to Division I status and a year later in 1998, changed their Metros nickname to Jaguars adding black & white to their colors. It could be said that IUPUI did not have an official logo until 1998, but these Metros marks appeared in programs, promotional materials, and on their uniforms.
