Miami (Ohio) Redhawks Logo

Secondary Logo (1997-2010)

What is this Miami (Ohio) Redhawks Logo?

Head of a Native American Chief wearing two feathers in his hair beside the then-new Beveled M. Starting in 1996, the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma (formerly of Ohio) stated their disapproval of the Redskins nickname. The school followed by adopting the Redhawks nickname starting with the 1997-98 season. Despite the nickname/mascot change, a new Native American head logo was designed in 1997 and used until no later than 2010. Likely used for legacy & alumni purposes.
