What is this Texas Longhorns Logo?
Lone Star Showdown rivalry logo between the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies sponsored by Cotton. The name comes from Lone Star State, which is the nickname of the state of Texas. The Lone Star Showdown moniker was trademarked in 1996. The design features the Cotton Holdings corporate logo above the state of Texas shape in a beige color flanked by two-color all-caps Lone Star Showdown text. To the left is the Texas Longhorn silhouette logo in white on burnt orange trapezoid and to the right is the beveled TAM logo in white on Aggie Maroon trapezoid. In the background is a large beveled black star.

In 1894, Texas and Texas A&M met for the first time on the gridiron. Located 104 miles apart, the Longhorns and Aggies have competed against each other in more than 1,000 head-to-head competitions. After parting ways as conference foes in 2011, Texas joined Texas A&M in the SEC. In each year, the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown will include all NCAA varsity-level head-to-head regular season competitions between Texas and Texas A&M as scheduled or Championship competitions involving both Texas and Texas A&M. Points will be awarded in each match-up of the athletic year.
