What is the Wichita State Shockers Logo?
Considered the original WuShock, this was designed in 1948 by a student, Wilbur Elsea. He decided that the school needed a mascot who gave a tough impression, with a serious, no-nonsense scowl. Later that year WuShock was chosen as its name, derived from shortening Wichita University Wheatshockers.
