The original Kansas City Chiefs helmet, first worn during their time in the AFL in 1963, was a plain red helmet shell with a grey facemask. The Chiefs arrowhead logo featuring an interlocked KC in red and black on a white arrowhead placed on the side. The facemask colour was changed to white in 1974.
