The Buffalo Sabres so-called Goathead logo was introduced for the 1997 season in part to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the team as well as a move to a new arena. It shows a white buffalo head with black, silver, and red features. The Sabres darkened the shade of red used in this logo in time for the 1999-2000 season.
