Super Bowl IV Logo

Primary Logo (Super Bowl IV)

What is the Super Bowl Logo?

The Fourth AFL-NFL World Championship Game logo, this event is now referred to as Super Bowl IV. The logo shows SUPER BOWL, which was an unofficial nickname for the game at the time, in red with a considerable blue dropshadow with FOURTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in black below it. The first four Super Bowl games did not have official logos assigned to them and have since had new designs applied retroactively by the league. The design here is based on the lettering used on both the ticket as well as the press guide for the game. This game was played between the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans on January 11, 1970
