Miami Dolphins Helmet

Helmet (1980-1989)

What is this Miami Dolphins Helmet?

The Miami Dolphins helmet from 1980 to 1996 was a slightly modified version of what they had used in the 1970s. The shell remained white and the logo continued as a teal dolphin wearing a football helmet with an M on it continued to leap in front of an orange sunburst, but the sunburst itself was made considerably smaller than before. Most notably, the facemask changed from grey to aqua. Following the 1989 season, the Dolphins changed the shade of orange used throughout their identity.
