Gamecock (rooster of the domestic chicken trained for fighting) in Garnet & black clutching a black/Garnet ribbon with the text SCHOLARSHIP/LEADERSHIP in white. This was worn on their football helmets from 1966 through 1975, sometimes with yellow claws, beak, and text. Not the official version. Earlier versions of this logo included more white details in its feathers.
