What is the Southern California Trojans Logo?

In roughly 1983, USC started using this USC logo which appears to be in different cardinal & gold then other years. The design was probably influenced by the Olympic Rings as the 1984 Summer Olympics were hosted in Los Angeles. Commonly appears with a generic TROJANS font above. Not the official version.
