The New York Yankees logo of the 1930s and 1940s. The Yankees made a slight tweak to their famous interlocking NY logo in 1936, making the letters thicker and bringing them closer together. Originally designed by Tiffany & Co., the interlocking NY logo first appeared on a medal of valour. This medal was awarded in 1877 to John McDowell, a New York City police officer who was shot while performing his duties.
