What is this New York Yankees Logo?

The New York Yankees home jersey logo from 1936 to 1946 was this version of an interlocking NY design in midnight navy blue on a white jersey with those famous dark midnight blue pinstripes. The Yankees first wore an NY on pinstripes in 1915 for a single season; it returned (shown here) in 1936 before taking on its slightly-tweaked forever style in 1947.
