Known as the "Nautical Compass Rose" logo, it's colour scheme of navy blue, metallic silver and Northwest green represents the sea, technology, and the great outdoors -- all of which are indigenous to the Seattle region.

After nearly 20 years of blue and yellow the Seattle Mariners went a drastically different route for the 1993 season unveiling the new logo and colour scheme on September 18, 1992. The new uniforms weren't unveiled until just a few weeks before spring training, on February 3, 1993.
