Primary roundel design with the state shapes of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida in green with gold stars at each member institution location. The states are atop a pinwheel sun design in yellow placed on an orange center. The outer blue ring features the full conference name in gold. Not the official version. Membership changes in 1982 called for another logo update. Western Kentucky University and Old Dominion University joined in 1982.
