Primary Logo (1991-1997)

What is the Sun Belt Conference Logo?

Primary roundel design of a yellow sunburst design representing the sun on an orange circle. In the outer blue ring is the full conference name in gold. Not the official version. In 1991 was the merger of the Sun Belt Conference and the America South Conference, keeping the former`s name. The design was simplified to this rather than altering the state shapes shown. The new members in 1991 were Arkansas State University, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, University of Central Florida, Lamar University, Louisiana Tech University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and the University of Texas–Pan American. Several previous members of the Sun Belt left in 1991 as well.
