Primary roundel logo consisting of ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE arched in the outside ring. Inside are the members represented by stars in 4 states labeled by their two-letter abbreviations atop sun rays & a laurel. The founding members in 1953 were Clemson, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wake Forest (8 total). Sport-specific versions of this logo existed for basketball & football. Each shown a male athlete & its ball within a small circle at the bottom of the inner roundel.
